Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 Notification Out for 15 Sportsperson Posts – Apply Offline

Rail Wheel Factory (RWF), Yelahanka, Bangalore has announced 15 Sports Quota vacancies for the recruitment year 2026-27. These vacancies are distributed across Level-2 (GP 1900) and Level-1 (GP 1800) in various sports disciplines.

The recruitment covers Badminton, Table Tennis, Cricket, Hockey, Football and Kabaddi. Vacancies are available for specific playing positions as mentioned in the official notification.

The notification was released on 25 July 2026. The last date for submission of offline applications is 24 August 2026 (05:00 PM). Candidates from notified North Eastern States and specified remote regions can apply up to 31 August 2026. Sports trials are tentatively scheduled from 06 to 08 October 2026.

Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years of age as on 01 January 2027. The candidate should be born between 02 January 2002 and 01 January 2009 (both dates inclusive). No age relaxation is permitted.

The educational qualification depends on the post. Eligible qualifications include 10th Pass, 12th Pass, ITI, National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) or equivalent qualifications as prescribed for the respective level and post.

Candidates must fulfill the prescribed sports achievement norms applicable to the respective pay level. Sports achievements should have been obtained on or after 01 April 2024, and applicants must be active sportspersons as specified in the notification.

The selection process consists of Document Verification, Sports Trial, Assessment of Sports Achievements and Educational Qualification. Final selection is made purely on merit based on the prescribed marking scheme.

Candidates must secure at least 25 marks out of 40 during the sports trial to be declared FIT. The overall qualifying marks are 65 marks for Level-2 posts and 60 marks for Level-1 posts.

The application fee is ₹500 for General and other applicable candidates, while SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Minorities and Economically Backward Classes candidates are required to pay ₹250. The fee should be paid through Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Demand Draft (DD).

The application process is completely offline. Candidates must download the prescribed application form, fill it manually, attach the required documents and send it to Rail Wheel Factory before the closing date.

Candidates should submit the duly filled application form, passport-size photograph, educational certificates, sports achievement certificates, age proof, caste certificate (if applicable), IPO/DD, and other supporting documents prescribed in the notification.

Yes. Selected candidates will undergo a probation period of two years. They will also be required to execute the prescribed service bond according to Railway rules.

Yes. Candidates serving in Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings or Railways can apply, provided they produce the required No Objection Certificate (NOC) during the recruitment process as specified in the notification.
