Important Information
Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), O&M Division, Jalandhar has released Advertisement No. 01/2026 for engagement of Apprentices under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 for the session 2026-27. A total of 16 Apprentice vacancies are available in various trades including Lineman, Electrician, Gardener, Cook, Welder and Plumber. Eligible candidates can apply online through the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal from 05 June 2026 to 04 July 2026. Selection will be based on merit prepared from academic qualifications as prescribed in the notification.

Eligibility Details
Candidates applying for ITI Trade Apprentices including Lineman, Electrician, Welder and Plumber must have passed 10th Class examination with at least 40% marks from a recognized board and should possess a National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT in the relevant trade. Candidates must also have completed the respective ITI course and possess a valid Aadhaar Card. For Non-ITI trades such as Gardener and Cook, candidates must have passed at least 8th Class from a recognized school. Preference will be given to candidates residing near the substation area.

Selection Process

Merit Based Selection
- Selection will be made from the NAPS/NATS apprenticeship database.
- No written examination will be conducted.

ITI Trade Apprentices Merit
- 30% weightage will be given to 10th class marks.
- 70% weightage will be given to ITI trade marks.

Document Verification
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of original documents.
- Final selection will be subject to successful verification.
Preference Criteria
- 25% seats in each trade will be reserved for candidates possessing residence certificates of the concerned district.
- If reserved seats remain vacant, candidates from the concerned state will be considered.
- Remaining seats will be filled through open merit.
- In case of equal marks, preference will be given to the older candidate.
- If age is also the same, the candidate who passed matriculation earlier will be given preference.

Important Note: Candidates who have already completed apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training in any establishment are not eligible to apply. Candidates awaiting results of qualifying examinations as on the last date of application will also not be considered.
