NET / Ph.D. Requirement
The National Eligibility Test (NET) is the minimum eligibility requirement for appointment as Assistant Professor. Candidates awarded Ph.D. degrees in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009/2016 and subsequent amendments are exempted from NET as per UGC norms. Foreign Ph.D. holders from top 500 ranked universities may also be eligible for exemption as per prescribed guidelines.
