CSIR-CSIO Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 06 Security Officer, Receptionist & Driver Posts

CSIR-CSIO Recruitment 2026 is a regular recruitment drive conducted by CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation, Chandigarh. The recruitment has been announced for 06 posts of Security Officer, Receptionist and Driver under Advertisement No. Regular-01/2026.

A total of 06 vacancies are available, including 01 Security Officer, 01 Receptionist and 04 Driver posts.

The minimum age for all posts is 18 years. The maximum age is 35 years for Security Officer, 28 years for Receptionist and 27 years for Driver, subject to applicable relaxation under Government of India rules.

The Security Officer post requires eligible Ex-Servicemen JCOs, such as Subedar or higher rank, or candidates of equivalent rank in other Paramilitary Forces with the prescribed security experience. Specific experience provisions are also provided for eligible Short Service Commissioned Officers, Assistant Commandants and Inspectors of Paramilitary Forces.

Candidates applying for the Receptionist post must be Graduates with two years of relevant experience as a Receptionist in a Government organisation, Autonomous Body or Public Sector Undertaking.

Driver candidates must have passed 10th standard, possess valid LMV and HMV driving licences, have working knowledge of motor mechanism including the ability to remove minor vehicle defects, and have at least three years of experience in driving a motor car.

The Security Officer post carries Pay Matrix Level-7 with a pay scale of ₹44,900–₹1,42,400. The approximate total monthly emoluments at Chandigarh are stated as around ₹93,758, subject to applicable allowances and deductions.

The Receptionist post carries Pay Matrix Level-6 with a pay scale of ₹35,400–₹1,12,400. The approximate total monthly emoluments at Chandigarh are around ₹74,530.

The Driver post carries Pay Matrix Level-2 with a pay scale of ₹19,900–₹63,200. The approximate total monthly emoluments at Chandigarh are around ₹41,718.

General, OBC and EWS candidates have to pay ₹500 plus GST, totaling ₹590. SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and Women candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.

The applicable application fee must be paid online through State Bank Collect. Candidates should enter the transaction number correctly in the application form and retain the payment e-receipt for future reference.

The Security Officer selection process includes a Physical and Personality Assessment Test, followed by Written Test Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is qualifying in nature, while the final merit is based on Paper II performance subject to the prescribed qualifying thresholds.

Selection for the Receptionist post is through a Personality Assessment Test. Candidates should follow the detailed instructions contained in the official recruitment notification.

Driver candidates must first qualify the Skill Test. They then appear for a written examination consisting of 100 objective questions carrying 300 marks. The final merit list is prepared based on written examination performance after qualifying the Skill Test.

Yes. In the Driver written examination, each correct answer carries 3 marks and 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer. The examination contains 100 questions for a total of 300 marks and has a duration of 90 minutes.

For the general category, the minimum height is 167 cm for male candidates and 157 cm for female candidates. Separate relaxed height standards are prescribed for candidates from hilly areas and ST candidates. A chest measurement of 80 cm unexpanded and 85 cm expanded is prescribed for general male candidates.

The Driver Skill Test is qualifying in nature. Candidates who qualify the Skill Test proceed to the written examination, and the final merit list is based on written examination performance.

Candidates should keep their recent photograph, signature, educational qualification certificates, experience certificates, category certificate where applicable, PwBD certificate if applicable, Ex-Servicemen documents where applicable, CGPA-to-percentage conversion certificate if required, equivalence certificate and certified translation of documents not in English or Hindi.
